What is inside a Greenleaf Scented Sachet?Updated 2 hours ago
Greenleaf Scented Sachets contain a simple blend of two key ingredients: vermiculite and fragrance.
The Two Main Ingredients
Vermiculite
What it is: A naturally occurring mineral extracted from soil
Why we use it: Vermiculite has a porous, layered structure that beautifully absorbs and holds fragrance. It's the perfect carrier for long-lasting scent.
Where it comes from: All of our vermiculite is mined in South Carolina, right here in our home state. We use stringent testing to ensure it's safe and clean.

Fragrance
What it is: Our proprietary fragrance blends, created in-house at our Spartanburg, South Carolina facility
The blend: Like most quality home fragrance products, our fragrances contain both natural and synthetic ingredients
Safety standards: All of our fragrance ingredients meet strict International Fragrance Association (IFRA) safety standards
How It Works
The vermiculite acts like a sponge, absorbing and slowly releasing our signature fragrances over time. This is why sachets can keep spaces fresh for up to 9 months without any flames, plugs, or sprays.
The paper envelope keeps the vermiculite contained while allowing the fragrance to gently diffuse into your space.
Why You Should NOT Open a Sachet
Leave it sealed! The sachet is designed to work in its envelope. Opening it can:
- Create a mess (vermiculite is a mineral that can stain and be difficult to clean)
- Cause the fragrance to dissipate too quickly
- Risk damage to surfaces, fabrics, and finished items
Important warning: Avoid contact of the package and contents with skin, furniture, fabrics, finished surfaces, plastics, and painted items as it may cause damage or discoloration.
What Makes Greenleaf Sachets Special
Original recipe: We created the first scented envelope sachet back in 1975 in the basement of our founders' home using a Sunbeam Mixmaster kitchen mixer. It's been our signature product ever since!
Quality ingredients: Materials that meet rigorous safety standards
Long-lasting fragrance: Up to 9 months of continuous scent
Versatile: Can be used anywhere from closets and drawers to cars and gym bags
Are Sachets Safe?
Yes! Our sachets are perfectly safe to have in your home with pets and children when used as directed (kept in the envelope and out of reach).
If a person or pet ingests sachet contents, rinse mouth with water and contact your doctor or vet. We can provide a Safety Data Sheet upon request.
